LiceGuard’s shampoo contains a special ingredient that loosens the grip of lice and breaks the glue that binds the lice eggs/nits to the hair shaft. In a clinical trial, LiceGuard Shampoo removed more than 3x as many lice and eggs compared to combing alone. Getting rid of eggs will break the infestation cycle faster, as they won’t be around to hatch, become adult lice, and then lay their own eggs.

One effective but dangerous method of killing lice is by using toxic shampoos that contain pesticides such as Pyrethrum or Permethrin. Many people don’t realize that these powerful chemicals are the active ingredients in household bug killers, and work by attacking the louse’s central nervous system.

Unfortunately, these toxins can also harm people. Pesticide shampoos generally leave a toxic residue on the hair for a few days, and as children scratch their heads, poisons can get absorbed into the scalp, on their fingers, and then into their eyes, nose or mouth. Government studies suggest that these toxins increase the likelihood of Leukemia, and doctors strongly warn that pregnant women, children with colds, and people with asthma or other respiratory conditions should not use pesticide based solutions.

Shake the Shampoo bottle well before use.

Simply shampoo into hair, creating a lather. You can apply the shampoo in the shower, tub, or while sitting in chair, whichever is most convenient. Wait 3-5 minutes before rinsing thoroughly.

You next will remove the lice, eggs and nits by combing your wet hair with our included Lice Comb.

For tangled hair, we recommend that you first brush well with your own regular brush to remove all knots.

Then, use the included fine-toothed egg and lice comb to remove the lice and eggs. The lice live behind the ears and at the nape of the neck ¼ inch from the scalp, so begin by paying special attention to those areas and comb using the fine-tooth comb. Eggs/nits can live anywhere on the hair, so continue combing from the root all the way through the entire hair length.

To treat longer hair, first divide the hair into sections, and comb small sections one at a time.

Clean the comb thoroughly by brushing the comb with the cleaning brush and by rinsing in soapy water. Clean after each section or as needed.

Repeat combing, lifting and pinning for the rest of the hair.

Repeat these steps daily until all the lice, eggs, and nits are gone.
