Use

Designed to remove all stages of head lice.

Directions

1. PREPARING FOR USE

  • Choose the comb that works best for your hair type: blue for short or coarse hair, green for long or fine hair.
  • Wet and shampoo hair. We recommend using LiceGuard shampoo that is clinically proven to loosen the eggs from the hair shaft or use any conditioning shampoo. Towel dry and brush any tangles and knots out of hair.

2. EFFECTIVELY USING THE EGG & LICE REMOVAL COMBING KIT

  • Using the hair pick, part the hair into small sections and use the locator glass to examine for any lice or eggs/nits.
  • Using the comb, thoroughly comb each section of the head, neck, and scalp using a methodical process.
    • First target areas behind the ears and around the nape of the neck. Lice tend to concentrate in these areas.
    • Next, target areas close to the scalp. Lice are generally found within 1/4 inch from the scalp.
    • Lice, eggs, and nits can be anywhere in the hair, so be sure to comb from the root through the entire hair length.
    • For longer hair, divide the hair into sections and comb one section at a time.
  • Rinse the comb in warm soapy water after each section or as needed to remove lice and other particles.

3. COMPLETE THE TREATMENT CYCLE

  • Repeat these steps once or more per day until all the lice, eggs, and nits are gone.
Cleaning & Maintenance

Rinse the comb and locator glass in soapy water for cleaning. For best results use a hard small brush (an old toothbrush works well) to clean between the teeth/tines. Wash the clothes you and your child were wearing during the comb-out process with hot water or put in the dryer on high heat. Vacuum or sweep the floor under and around combing area.

Other Information

How to thoroughly comb long hair:

  • Part your child's hair into four large sections (divide down the center part line and then divide in half across). Clip three of the four sections up out of the way.
  • Working on the loose unclipped section, pick up one small section of hair and comb from the scalp all the way down. Comb each small section at least twice or until the comb comes out clean.
  • Between each combing, clean the comb with a cloth or flick the teeth into a bowl to release the eggs/nits and/or lice caught in the teeth.
  • When a section is done you may find it helpful to twist the combed hair and clip it to the head.
